Good, and good for you! |
You'll find Teresa (along with Marilyn Wettstein and her Organic Pastures meats) this Saturday, Dec. 19, down in the warm basement of Immanuel Lutheran Church, 616 Lake Street in Evanston.
Here is a quick rundown of all of our homegrown and handmade goodies that we are bringing up to satisfy all your holiday gift-giving needs. Scroll down for more details on each. See you Saturday, and remember, we'll be in the church basement.
Chocolate Covered Aronia Berries

We use only our plumpest, juiciest frozen berries and dip them in high quality dark or white chocolate. The tannic, red wine taste of the berries blends beautifully with the dark, satiny chocolate. Pick some up for your favorite friends, and don't forget one for yourself too!
I made these for the first time last Valentine's Day, and they were such a big hit that they flew off my table in the first half hour of the market. Come early if you don't want to miss them!
Kira's Holiday Paperwhites and Wreaths

Evergreen wreath with holly -- made by Kira. |
And don't forget a wreath! Kira made these with real greens cut from our own evergreens, so they will last for many months.
Teresa's Usual Jams plus a few more!
Throughout the season, whenever there is fruit that isn't good enough to sell, Teresa makes small batches of jam, mainly to give as gifts to family and friends. This year, she has some extras, including Strawberry with Ground Cherry, Ground Cherry, Crabapple, and Blueberry with Black Currant.
Come early to get these rare specialty jams. Or come later to get the customer favorite, Hot Pepper Aronia Jam, or the usual Aronia jams and jellies. This year, she has some extras, including Strawberry with Ground Cherry, Ground Cherry, Crabapple, and Blueberry with Black Currant.
Jill's Holiday Soaps!
Stock up all of Jill's soaps for your friends, teachers, coworkers, and family members. These soaps have no artificial scents, and are made with organic olive oil, coconut oil, and Jill's own super-rich goat milk. Many people are programmed to expect soaps to be strongly scented, but if you'd rather not have those chemicals in your nose and on your skin, get these mild soaps with mild scents from the organic ingredients themselves.

Pumpkin Spice Latte NEW!! This soap is very similar to Jill's old Pumpkin Spice, but with the addition of espresso powder. It contains organic pumpkin puree, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves too. The scent definitely smells like a pumkin pie and Jill has poured the soap so that it looks like a latte with the cream on top! Really makes a nice gift! Buy One, Get One FREE on this soap only!!
...Christmas Spice - -This soap contains pine and peppermint essential oils for that holiday smell. It also contains soy milk for a long lasting hard bar and ground pine needles for a gentle exfoliant. Tied with a red ribbon.
...Cranberry - Burgundy oxide gives this soap a nice holiday red color. Chopped dried cranberries make it lightly exfoliating and orange essential oil and rose absolute essential oil give it a fruity floral scent.

...Frankincense and Myrrh -- This is my favorite of the holiday soaps. Castor oil and shea oil make your skin feel so soft. lightly scented with frankincense and myrrh essential oils.
...Gingersnap -- Gingersnaps scent is reminiscent of a batch of warm cookies straight from the oven. Warm and comforting and slightly exfoliating, ground ginger is just as excellent in this soap as it is in your favorite holiday treats.
Teresa's Herb Teas
We haven't had a lot of really cold tea weather yet, but it's coming! I'm already running out of a few varieties of tea, so come stock up on your favorites. Teas make a thoughtful and affordable gift for all your teachers, coworkers, and friends.
Aronia Berry Juice
This juice is fresh pressed and loaded with antioxidants. Jill gave me another testimonial yesterday when Kira and I went to cut down a Christmas Tree from her farm. She said her throat felt scratchy and her sinuses were all stuffed up. She and her daughter Tess were about to drive to Tennessee and Georgia to look at colleges, so she took a couple of quarts of aronia juice with her. She drank a quart a day and, voila! -- her symptoms disappeared! Stock up on Saturday -- because we won't be back up to Evanston until late January.
Bernie T-shirts!
Kira (Teresa's daughter and your flower farmer this summer) has drawn and designed this T-shirt to help raise money for Bernie Sanders' campaign (10% of sales go to the Bernie campaign).
Support family farms, GMO labeling laws, the environment, and sensible global warming policies AND look great while you do it! This will make a great gift, and who knows, maybe a valuable collector's item! Come early to get your choice of color, style, and size!

Last but not least . . . Henry's Farm Cookbook, and The Land Connection's 2016 Calendar
Terra brought these to the pre-Thanksgiving market, but the slushy, sleety day was not print-matter-friendly! They both make great gifts, so get them this Saturday. If you don't see them, ask Teresa. If there's not be enough space to display everything on the table, she'll have them under the table.
Thank you,
Happy Holidays,
and Best Wishes for a Happy & Healthy New Year
from all the Brockmans!
