We harvested out a lot of our greens last Friday fearing that low night temperatures over last weekend would wipe them all out. Amazingly, however, many of the greens survived, so we'll be bringing up a great selection of leafy veggies for our last market of the season!
Our fall kale planting is especially bountiful, so you'll find yourself in kale heaven this Saturday, with Russian frills, Lacinato, Red Russian, Winter Bor, and even some Collard bunches! I love throwing kale in with tomato sauce or soups--it's so tasty and nutritious!
The market stand will also abound with our choi: Komatsuna, Mei Qing choi, Tatsoi, and white-stemmed Pak Choi. Take this last opportunity to freeze these greens--it takes little effort (just a few minutes of blanching, cooling, and packing them into freezer bags!)--so freeze some choi and gorge yourself all winter long.
Come early for mesclun, curly parsley, dill, cilantro, spinach, broccoli raab, broccoli and bagged chard.

Our radishes, turnips, beets and carrots didn't get as large this fall as usual, so we won't have a lot to sell this market. Be sure to arrive early if you would like Japanese turnips, beets, parsnips, burdock, rutabaga and carrots!

We'll be bringing up a good selection of potatoes and sweet potatoes. There will only be a small amount of the Ginseng and Okinawan purple sweet potatoes, so be sure to arrive in haste if you want to stock up on those delicious varieties.
Lastly, stock up on our potato and sweet potato seconds! Stocking up on potato seconds is a great way to save money and enjoy our delicious potatoes even in the dead of winter.

...Cranberry - Burgundy oxide gives this soap a nice holiday red color. Chopped dried cranberries make it lightly exfoliating and orange essential oil and rose absolute essential oil give it a fruity floral scent.
...Frankincense and Myrrh -- This is my favorite of the holiday soaps. Castor oil and shea oil make your skin feel so soft. lightly scented with frankincense and myrrh essential oils.
...Gingersnap -- Gingersnaps scent is reminiscent of a batch of warm cookies straight from the oven. Warm and comforting and slightly exfoliating, ground ginger is just as excellent in this soap as it is in your favorite holiday treats.
